Meet the Founder

On March 25, 1998, Maria Fassi was born in Mexico City and raised in Pachuca, Hidalgo, about 70 miles north of Mexico City.

Maria started playing golf when she was seven years old. Everything started as a fun game between her and her siblings. She fell in love with the game at an early age and started competing when she was 8. Her passion for the game kept growing as well as her love for competition. These all lead to her pursuing her dream and becoming a professional athlete.

Family, friends, and golf are Maria's biggest passions.

Maria played collegiate golf at the University of Arkansas from 2016-2019, where she won 11 individual titles, including the 2019 SEC Championship and the 2019 NCAA Championship. Maria also became the first person to win the Annika award in back-to-back seasons.

Maria started her professional career on the LPGA in June of 2019. Her first event as a professional was the US Women's Open, where she finished T-12.

On June 27, 2020, Maria claimed her first professional win at the Cooper Communities NWA Classic, only a few miles away from her alma mater. She is now on her third year as a professional and just recently competed at the 2020 Olympics.

Maria's work through The Maria Fassi Foundation and the creation of Fassi's Friends came to fruition after many years of dreaming about starting her own foundation. Josefina, Maria's cousin, is mute, deaf, and has brain paralysis. Josefina's love and passion for golf grew after watching Maria compete. Josefina's love for the game, grows daily and she has become an inspiration for so many in her community and Maria herself.

This is why Maria felt inspired and motivated to start a foundation to help bring kids of all abilities to golf and start impacting kids' lives in her community.

Make it worth it.
